Riverwalk Parks

The Independence River Walk Parks is a community participation project funded and constructed locally and is a wonderful asset to the Independence community. River Walk Parks connect Brimmer Park, Teacher's Park, and Bathing Beach Park. This park system consists of over 18 acres of FEMA buyout land. This beautiful park area includes: a concrete trail along the scenic Wapsipinicon River, river access, boat dock, memorial benches, beautiful river scenery, nostalgic lighting, open air picnic shelters, community band shell, a playground, open green spaces, sand volleyball courts, horseshoe courts, basketball court/ pickleball court, Little Free Library, and a 9 hole disc golf course. It is also the host site to several city wide celebrations and events.
